“120 years transforming the future with Portugal’ is the slogan of Siemens’ new multimedia campaign, which celebrates 12 decades of presence in the country. The initiative, running until December 2025, highlights the company’s areas of operation — energy, infrastructure, industry, healthcare, and mobility — and the impact of its technology in bridging the real and virtual worlds, with a focus on themes such as sustainability and people.”
The campaign, developed by White Way, an agency of WYgroup, will have different phases. In the first stage, which has already begun, the focus is on print and digital media, including social media, and will later expand to outdoor advertising.
“The campaign marking the company’s 120 years in Portugal focuses on people, technology, and sustainability, and, just like the more than 4,000 Siemens employees do every day, aims to challenge Portugal to think about the future, one that is better for people, more technological for industries, and more sustainable for society,” says Hugo Modesto, Communications Director at Siemens in Portugal.
“Siemens employees are not left out and will play a central role in the campaign. They have been challenged to share their vision of what Portugal will look like in 30 years. The most creative responses, selected through an internal communication initiative, are incorporated into the campaign’s narrative, enhancing the authenticity and emotion of the campaign.”
“‘As people are one of our main focuses, we felt it was very relevant to include our employees in this moment, giving greater authenticity and emotion to the campaign, and giving due recognition to our people, as they are the true reason for our success,’ adds Hugo Modesto.”
The campaign also invites all citizens to share their ideas about the future of the country through Siemens’ website. The most creative proposals will be highlighted in commemorative initiatives promoted by the company.
Since its arrival in Portugal in 1905, Siemens has played a crucial role in the country’s development. It contributed to national electrification, advanced in the transport sector, and was present at major events such as Expo’98 and Euro 2004. More recently, Siemens has stood out in projects promoting sustainability, such as energy storage on the islands of Terceira and Madeira, and the water, energy, and emissions control center of EPAL.
Until the end of 2025, Siemens will carry out various initiatives, including studies on strategic markets, internal and external events, and specific content for social media. ‘As a technology company, we are committed to continuing to support the transformation of the country, just as we have done over these decades,’ concludes Hugo Modesto.
