NERVO brings new energy to EDP activations.

Aligned by their sustainability commitments, brand and agency reaffirm the continuation of the work started in 2023. 

Over the past two years, NERVO has been the agency responsible for brand activations at marathons and races sponsored by EDP. This year, it also expands into the surfing territory, taking on EDP’s activations at the EDP Ericeira Pro 2024, which took place this past weekend, and at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal, under EDP’s global brand signature, “We Choose Earth.”

“These two axes of brand activation and communication, which unfold at various moments throughout the year, allow us to create active and consistent work for the brand, reinforcing its presence at major events in these two sports universes. With a brand as structured as EDP, this can only be achieved by understanding and always keeping in mind the strategic pillars that guide it,” says Tiago Tarracha, Managing Partner at NERVO.

Sports equipment collection and donation drives, registrations for beach clean-up and reforestation initiatives, as well as workshops on sustainable practices, are some of the activities available to the public at these events, with a focus on social responsibility and sustainability.

These and other new initiatives were showcased throughout the week during the EDP Ericeira Pro surf championship, as well as at the EDP Lisbon Marathon. These efforts reflect the brand’s commitment to choosing the Earth and ensuring a sustainable future for the planet, in collaboration with NERVO’s activations.

“Building on the global tagline, We Choose Earth, it’s important to know how to interpret the brand in different spaces, for different audiences, and with clearly defined objectives. This versatility gives us the tools to create moments like the ‘infinite finish line,’ which took place at the EDP Lisbon Marathon—an entirely sports-based concept—while contributing to EDP’s global communication.
