In a world that is constantly changing, with digital transitions that challenge us every second, leveling skills is extremely important. All professional areas must follow this growth and acquire digital knowledge and skills.

Investing in training should be a priority for everyone, from a professional but also personal development perspective, as well as a mandatory concern for any company. Knowledge is transformative, and anyone who does not invest in acquiring new skills will hardly be able to grow and make the company they represent evolve.

Education and training are essential tools to keep up with the changing needs of the labor market. However, there is a skills gap that needs to be addressed. For example, 40% of employers say they cannot find people with the right skill set to fill their vacancies.

The evident skills gap is, to a large extent, explained by the speed that the digital ecosystem has brought to the business fabric, the lack of capacity to monitor the training offer of most institutions, and the scarcity of financing faced by individuals, companies and providers educational institutions that do not have the necessary financial resources to keep up with the evolution of specific skills needs. In this transformative context, the EU is providing funding to help accelerate education, training and reskilling efforts.

Within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR), the + Digital Training Check Measure is included for all workers, regardless of their employment, with a value of up to 750 euros, for training that trains them in digital skills.

Lisbon Digital School is proud to be able to support this initiative that is part of the Employment + Digital 2025 Program, supporting the development of those who always want to learn more!

In Pope Francis’ recent visit to our country, in his eloquent and humanized speech, there was room for the theme of Education and knowledge. I share this quote: “For the university (…) it would be a waste to think of it only to perpetuate the current elitist and unequal system in the world with higher education that continues to be a privilege for the few. If knowledge is not accepted as a responsibility, it becomes sterile.” Pope Francis, August 3rd, 2023.

Access to knowledge must be embraced with responsibility and vision, and an opportunity for change, evolution and innovation.
