On June 1st, more than 130 professionals say goodbye to their agency, to enter another – WYcreative

Maybe it’s material to be included in the Guinness Book of Records, but the truth is that there was no time to agree with them to come here to confirm. Between calling, arranging the day, waiting for someone to come over, and waiting for the report, among all the other things that are needed to get into Guinness, it was a gigantic hassle. And the team has more to do.

Anyway, back to the topic. It is true. More than 130 professionals will exchange their agency for another, on the same day. As if that wasn’t curious enough, there’s another interesting aspect to all of this: all these people left the agency where they were, and managed not to leave the same place.

Now that we’ve confused people, let’s de-confuse. This is it: BY and FEVER, two of the WYgroup agencies decided to join forces and together form a new agency: WYcreative.

When asked to comment, Pedro Janela, CEO of WYgroup, responds: “I’m sorry, but I’m busy right now. Let them speak.”

“This was a strategic decision, based on a new organizational model that the group is implementing and which involves standardizing the units that comprise it as much as possible”, say Rita Baltazar and Gonçalo Castelo-Branco, Partners of the ex-BY and the new WYcreative, still showing a remarkable ability to utter the same phrase at the same time.

João Mastbaum, Executive Director of the ex-FEVER and Senior Partner & CCO of the new WYcreative, says that “it was a natural step, to bring together two agencies that complement each other and create a super team, with greater capacity to respond not only to clients but also to the new times.”, even showing a certain poetic vein.

Liliana Farinha, Senior Partner & COO of the new WYcreative, points to “a greater integration between all aspects of communication. Technology, data, strategy, online and offline communication, all at the service of the most important thing: the idea.”

Luísa Manso, Senior Partner & New Business Director of the new WYcreative, says that “it was a process that made perfect sense, also in view of customers, who increasingly demand multidisciplinary teams. This is also a way for them to concentrate all their communication, on all platforms, in the same agency.”

Carlos Pontes, Creative Director, says: “I agree.”. Miguel Franco, another Creative Director, adds: “I underline.”. Rui Simões, a third Creative Director reinforces: “Yes, yes.”. To those who are asking “But aren’t these creative directors too many?”, the agency replies: “Calm down, they are from different areas.”

But back to the subject, the title is explained. 130 people changed because their agency changed.

Stay tuned.
